No more than 12 hours of coursework may be taken pass/fail.  A minimum of 2.0 overall GPA and 2.5 major GPA is required.  At least one course must be taken from the Writing Intensive course list in the catalog.  B.F.A. Design and Technology students must pass yearly portfolio reviews to remain in the program. Students on academic probation may not participate in School of Theatre and Dance productions.

  • Musical Theatre students may place out of Studio Dance courses in which case they will take a minimum of 6 credit hours advanced techniques courses and 2 hours of dance practicum.
  • Students in the BFA Musical Theatre Program are required to audition for all theatre division mainstage productions and accept roles if cast.
  • Students may be dropped from the program for failure to maintain a 2.50 GPA.
  • Students in the musical theatre concentration must pass annual evaluations to remain in the program.
  • All students must petition the acting faculty prior to auditioning for any production work outside of the program.
