MFA Costume Design Option

Graduate students in the Costume Design Option at Kent learn a broad spectrum of skills--from designing for theatre to design for television, film, and corporate mascots and other 3-D characters.

Student designers have the opportunity to learn fabric modification, advanced cutting and draping skills, and work with some of the latest computer graphics software and hardware.  Graduate students in the MFA Costume Design program design for Theatre/Kent/Dance, Porthouse Theatre Company, and Corporate Theatre Projects, as well as receiving experience through arranged internships with professional theatre companies.

Of special interest to costume students is the Kent State University Museum.  Founded by Fashion Designer Shannon Rogers, the museum focuses on fashion and interior artifacts.

Please give me a call if you are considering graduate programs in Costume design. I would be glad to speak with you about any questions you have concerning this program.  I can be reached at (330) 672-2082 or by email at scampbe2@kent.edu
